Daniel Boyle is one of Britain's leading crime writers.

Until now, you won't have picked up one of his books, but you are bound to have watched his work on TV. Since the 1990s, Daniel has been writing episodes for the 'Morse' series, and most recently its spin off, 'Lewis'.

He also adapted Ian Rankin's 'Rebus' for ITV and wrote the first two episodes for Ken Stott.

Daniel was keen to write his own crime series and in John Paris he has created a gripping investigator every bit as powerful and compelling as the characters he brings to life for the small screen.

Illusion is the first in the John Paris PI series.
